In a NYsecond, I would leave, but while I am still in it I am giving 110%. BTW, it is not getting me anywhere with the new crowd of nurses, new thinking Gen X nurses. Where did this group come from? I would say 1 out of 5 have made it on our unit.
Don't go into Nursing for the money, your heart has to lead you into being a nurse. A shift does not go by that I don't lament, "Florence and Clara would roll over in their graves if they were to see nursing today".

I left a higher paying job to pursue a nursing career.

Leave psych nursing? And give up 12 hour night shifts, exposure to violent patients and infectious diseases, indifference from doctors and lack of support from hospital management? I'd have to be crazy
