How many hours would you work?

If you needed to work only 8 hours a week in order to make ends meet, how many hours per week would you choose to work?

That's a no brainer for me....8 hours!

I don't need to work at all to make ends meet.

I work because I like contributing financially to household, being a well-rounded role model for my kids (did the totally-stay-at-home part for years), and because (hopelessly idealistically) I believe I can help people through nursing.

I work 3 days a week, 36-40 hours by the time I'm done. Sometimes I wish I had chosen per diem at only 24 hours a week, but hey, the paid benefits are nice

I would only work the 8 hours per week if I could get away with it. As much as I am fond of nursing, I would rather not deal with the workplace politics, pushy nurse managers, abusive family members, stress, and other aspects that interfere with basic care.

I would work 16 to 24 hours a week. I don't liking just making ends meet. I like to save a little bit and stay ahead and out of debt.

Right now I'm in the uncomfortable position since my divorce of being there. My 3 12's pays the mortgage and other bills, food, entertainment, etc. and makes ends meet. I work an extra 8 hour shift a week or every other week and set it aside for the inevitable extras that come along like vet bills, car trouble, etc.

I would work 8. Or however many I had to in order to keep benefits. No question. I like to work but I don't like to HAVE to work.

If I didn't work I would probably volunteer at something.

I think I would need at least 16 hours per week to keep me in from becoming a complete hermit and losing touch with the world. Also, I like to do better than "just make ends meet." I like to have a few luxeries now and then and like not having to worry about my finances.

So ... all that considered ... I'd probably work about 24 hours (three 8-hour days) per week. That's my plan for semi-retirment when I am approximately 60 years old.

I would work 36-40. I love my job. Not working gets boring really fast. If every day is a weekend, it kind of takes the fun out of time off.

I'd work at least 24...I prefer staying head vs. just making it.
