If given the choice it would be eight hours and not one second over that...only if that included my insurance (the reason I must work 40 hrs now)

I would work 24. That is my goal one day once we get all our debt paid off.

I would do 8, but I would be on call for more.
I wouldn't have any problem finding things to do with all of my free time. I think it would be a wonderful way to live. I envy those that don't have to work at all.

Heck yeah. I could think of a million things I'd rather be doing than working and putting up with all the garbage and game-playing. I'd be travelling. I'd be watching movies and playing video games. I'd be reading. I'd be pursuing all kinds of hobbies. Just think... 40 more hours a week to have fun... not spending the best parts of your week putting up with a bunch of silliness.

Like most everyone else in America I want to continue to chase the dream. I don't want to "just make ends meet." I have always had at least 2 jobs since I started nursing and right now I work 9-5 M-F and a weekend option every other weekend for those little extras that make my vacations fun!

I have spent the last week on vacation and I am SO ready to go back to work. I love my kids, really I do. But if I hear MOOOOOOM one more time So if I only had to work 8 hours a week to make ends meet? I would work at least 24. 2 12's or 3 8's is very doable and it would get me OUT!

When I was childless and did not HAVE to work, at one job I would work 48ish hours a week b/c I loved the job. Then I moved... I NEEDED about 16 hours a week to make the bills but worked 24.

Then I had a baby... I took a year off and went back 8-10 hours a week just to work. I did not have to.

Then had another baby... Took a year off and am looking to go back, about 8-10 hours a week. I WANT to go back... Again, not financially necessary.

For me, when there are kids involved and my husband makes enough to pay the bills, I think it is nice to work just enough to contribute to savings some and buy a few "extra's". I feel it is best to stay home as much as possible when there are young kids. But I certainly do not think that working while having kids is bad or anything.

If we were in our current financial situation where dh can pay all the bills, and if we did not have any kids, I would be working 24-32 hours a week. If childless, that would be a perfect amount to work for me if more $ was not needed. It would be a good amount of cash, enough work to not be bored, still have plenty of free time, but not so much that I was chronically stressed about work.
