Going from nursing home to hospital

by Suzanneyoulike Premium Member

Hi all! I'm an LPN about to be an RN. I've been an LPN for just under two years. I currently work at a geri-psych facility. It's long term care with a focus on mental health. I start IVs and all that good stuff, but my job is not typically acute care. I'm expect to have my RN by the start of July and I would like to work in a more acute care setting to get the experience and knowledge. Will I have trouble obtaining a job in a hospital with only nursing home experience? Has anyone here gone from LTC to acute care? Thanks!
