Hang in there! I know it's terrible but I'm sure you passed if it turned of that soon. If you're like me you'll hit a wall of shock when you find out you're a RN!!! Let us know when you hear the good news!

Health Re: 75 Questions on NCLEX, pass or fail?
I passed in 75. What I hated was that it just shut off. No "Thank you for testing" message to let you know it was over. I sat in front of the computer for about 5 minutes about to cry because I thought something had gone horribly wrong! I got too many pharmacology questions, especially psych meds, so I thought for sure I had failed.

Thing is, even if you don't pass the first time, it's not the end of the world. It doesn't mean you won't make a good nurse or that you don't know anything, it just means that you didn't take the NCLEX very well the first time. All a standardized test really measures is how good you are at taking that test.

If they had had some EKG questions, I would've kicked tush all over that test.

I took my Nclex yesterday and only received 75 questions.. I know I failed! I felt ok--bad after the test but learned that is the way most feel when leaving. I talked to a few friends whe said that 75 was either good or really bad. I think I fall into the really bad!! I tried that Pearson "trick" and if what everyone is saying is true.. I failed. The cc screen was available.. no pop-up. I cried all night, my hubbs says brush it off and try again in 45 days. That this very humbiling experience will only make me study harder, easy for him to say!! Sad thing is that I received 4.0 in all but one of my nursing classes (3.5) and scored a 980 on my Hessi. I guess all that really doesn't matter in the end if you can't pass boards.

Any suggestions would be great!
Any study ideas..books..classes?

HI Pinky girl
Do not lose your confidence inur self.Yes , of course ur class grades doesn't matter but not everyone is passing for the first time.So please keep up ur spirits and also Trust in GOD .
I had also the same feeling when I had 75 q's,but later I learnt from quick results that i failed. Please do not conclude until u see ur final result.
Some times we all hope that the trick must have stopped working!!!
And when it comes to books I am following hogan's and hurst review for 2nd time.I used kaplan and saunders 1st time and failed. SO i came back to this forum and one of the members had helped me so much to go through this. Being a foreign educated nurse , i feel Hurst review is great before taking Kaplan bcoz U must know ur content before taking question from anywhere.
Good luck and keep posting.

So my 48 hours of hell are not over yet...but my state board of nursing says that I have a current RN license...so that must mean that I passed!?!?! I can't even get quick results until tomorrow morning- but the state website must be accurate, right?

Just took the NCLEX today. My computer shut off at 75 and I begged it to give me more questions. I'm pretty sure I FAILED. I didn't know half of those questions, I felt like I guessed on most of them. I tried to use everything I learned from KAplan and it just didn't work out. It took me two hours and 15 minutes. I don't know what to do right now, I just wanna curl up and cry all day!!!!!!

pinkygirll, do not despair,i too took nclex the first time in may this yrand failed, had never failed any class in college so this came as a depressing shock to me.but here is what i did.i knew where i had gone wrong, ie using easy to understand review books such as saunders, dont get me wrong, saunders can be very good but when it comes to the actual nclex level qs, you want to use such books as mosby, exam cram, lippincott and also if you can get your hands on nclex 4000 you d be doing yourself a huge favor.i too studied for hrs and hrs on end but honestly if you are using the wrong text/lower level review material, you are likely not to pass.i am not saying thats what you did but from my personal experience,i suggest you use mosby and exam cram together.i know some people say to use one review book/cd but it helps to use several study aids.i did my nurse training in the united kingdom where they use a totally different system and no doubt i failed the first time but i got myself back up,worked hard, and passed on the second attempt.your husband is right,45days will soon pass, just mentally prepare yourself for the task ahead and you will make it.also, dont forget to do the things you love to do still, make time for some fun activities and take a day off or 2 just to give the brain time to take stuff in.
if you feel like you are struggling, seek personal tutoring.i hope this helps and i m sorry you didnt make it this time but you will be an RN one day.
