Re: 75 Questions on NCLEX, pass or fail?
Congrats Aaron And thank you for clarifying my comment above. I know that most nursing schools prep us well for the format of the NCLEX--after all, about 86% pass--but it's the way we feel after we finish that was so surprising to me. As you noted, most of us do feel that we failed. It was harsh (for me anyway), and I wasn't ready for it.
So to those of you waiting for results or to take the exam, don't let this exam bring you down. The odds and your efforts favor you
Now I have to start accepting the awesome responsibility of holding this RN license...

Re: 75 Questions on NCLEX, pass or fail?
Got 75Qs today 8am, the pearsonvue trick after 4PM, doesn't let me pay...."Our record.....contact your member board.....another reg. cannot be made at this time.....after my exam my husband told me that i look happy and i always laughing..... i said even if i cry i cannot do anything about it, it's done.... and we PRAY A LOT.... i cried while i pray......every click of the mouse i pray, went to bathroom i PRAY. My husband waiting for me outside the test center PRAYED 5x for 5-10mins. until i get out 11AM.....if PRAYER can move mountains then for GOD NCLEX is not a mountain, but for me NCLEX IS a mountain......i GIVE ALL THE GLORY TO GOD OUR SAVIOR.......HE IS OUR LIVING GOD......in answering questions im not in hurry, in fact even if im really sure my answer is correct i still read at least 3x to make sure.......at first i worried because i have SATA maybe 15-20 or even more, drugs 15-20 (6 only i knew and look in my books then i anwered it correctly), i just answer thru the prefix and suffix of drugs, few maternal&child, prioritization, Infection control, delegation, no computation......i tried to keep track the SATA but the questions getting harder and harder so i just focus on answering not counting SATA and drugs...GOD IS GOOD! i took my Philippine Board exam for the 1st time about 8weeks after graduation then i failed then never try again because i am busy preparing, processing documents in coming to US and CGFNS application..... and now GOD IS GOOD for the NCLEX 1ST TIME only.......PASSED.....I believed about the trick.....and most to GOD that HE is with me and guiding my hands and mind........EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE IN HIM!!!! | | No. 483 |

Re: 75 Questions on NCLEX, pass or fail?
Took the NCLEX today...usually have only mild test anxiety and did really well in school. Took me 3 hours to answer 75 questions and the machine shut off. In my case I am 100% sure that I failed. I came home and looked up at least 10 items I got wrong. It didn't seem to touch on all the important points I studied, asking several questions about herbals and other meds I have never heard of.....so sick I can't even function.....can't believe this happened to me.....I feel like I only knew a few anwers for sure.....family and friends keep saying "oh you know you passed,,,,you did so well in school.." It is difficult because they do not understand, I know for sure I failed...this wasn't like any test I took in school.....

Re: 75 Questions on NCLEX, pass or fail?
I understand, my test was set up the exact same way your's sounds. I turned off and 75 and felt like I was going to be sick. I wanted to scream at the computer for not giving me more questions to better test my ability. I really think I failed it because I guessed on more than I knew for sure. I guess I'll know in a couple of days. Good luck.

My computer shut off on me after 75 questions, took me just under one hour, and I passed. Don't give up!

Re: 75 Questions on NCLEX, pass or fail?
Did you feel like your questions were extremely difficult and you guessed on many? I'm just surprised that they didn't get easier if I missed them... it's all so confusing. They say it's possible to fail at 75 but after all the schooling and effort put into a nursing career it sure doesn't seem fair to judge a nurses fate on only 75 questions. Well... I'll continue to wait.

Re: 75 Questions on NCLEX, pass or fail?
So I posted a few days ago that I had taken the NCLEX, shut off at 75, and convinced myself that no doubt I failed. I passed. I'm hoping to give some comfort to those waiting on results. If you shut off at 75 you probably passed. I know I know you aren't supposed to count on that but it's common sense and I've asked hundreds of ppl to see the correlation between the numbers. If you are failing, your answers will begin to get easier and easier and you will go past the 75 questions. They want you to redeem yourself by giving you more opportunity to answer correctly. If you are finding your questions getting increasingly difficult and you are completely miserable you are probably doing fine. So far all our students have passed at 75, one failed but went to 185 questions. If you have not taken the test yet, do yourself a favor. Before going in to the test center promise yourself that no matter how you feel coming out you wont beat yourself up afterward. This test is built to challenge each person individually which means NOBODY is going to come out feeling confident. 85% of all NCLEX takers pass on their first try, chances are you are in that crowd. If you are waiting on results save your money on the "quick results" I had been checking it like crazy and still 48 hrs afterward it said "results are not available at this time". An old instructor called me and said congratulations you passed!!! I asked her how she knew that when I couldnt even pay for my results yet. The state board of nursing has a website with verification of licensure. Type in your name if it says pending then it's not there yet obviously. If says "Active" congrats your an RN, if it says "closed" then you failed. So save your money and find out OFFICIALLY, quicker, and free. Good luck everyone, take a deep breath and have some faith. | | No. 489 |

Re: 75 Questions on NCLEX, pass or fail?
Thank you Lost in Transition for your post. I am going through the torturous process of waiting right now after the computer shut off at 75...43 hours to go.
