I think so. We'll see how school goes. I want to work in women's health because of the issue's I've had as a woman trying to get dr.'s to listen. I know I would be much more caring and understanding than some of the dr's I've had. Not bashing all dr's here. I just have a passion for helping other women. I think as a NP, I could make a difference. Maybe that's simplistic, just my opinion.

I am also considering becoming a FNP. I'm not 100% sure right now but i'll figure it out eventually. Currently my first goal is to graduate on May 8, 2009 followed by passing boards (first attempt God willing). I have been considering FNP because I feel I can make a difference in patient's lives and be able to listen to their problem while some MDs are wanting pts in and out of the office in 15-30 minutes without fully assessing their situation.

Yep that's my ultimate goal. Of course I have to get into an ADN program first then get my BSN and go for my MSN. As of now I want to be ACNP. I just love trauma so I want to work in the ED.

Now approaching retirement age and have yet to accomplish BSN after starting almost 40 years ago. Unrealistic goal for someone like me.

No. I will get my BSN, will go through a couple tough years to do so. Its the least I will accept from myself.

After that, the MSN is optional, probably wont even go that far. If the home situation and work schedule are right, I may get it.

Anything beyond that is just not in my plans. I plan on being a bedside nurse for my career, so NP just isnt necessary.

My intent to become an NP has been dampened by the whole DNP thing. If i wanted to spend that much time on it, id go to med school.
