Well, I got up this mornning to run some errands before it got too hot outside. My a/c in my jeep isn't the best, so I thought I'd do it early. So I finish my errands and decide to stop at the dollar store to pick up some snacks for my boys while they're home for the summer.
I slow down and put on my blinker to prepare to turn left into the driveway. The entrance is smaller, with just 1 lane to enter, then next to it, 1 lane to exit. There was a car on the right shoulder across the street from the store and a truck parked where tou exit. Then there was a car sitting next to the truck, where I needed to go in.
Then i see 2 African American young males, probably 17 - 21, or so, fighting with each other. I slow down and look and one of them lets go of the other one and tries to jump on my car hood. Their aunt had been in a wreck right there and the car parked on the shoulder to the right was hers. So I stop and roll down my window and give them a few choice words. One of them dropped his cell phone when they started fighting, and he was worried that I would run over it. Then the two commenced fighting, and I started a inch up.
Well, me almost running over the phone was the least of his worries! When he bent down to get the phone, the other one pulled out a small handgun and shot him. Of course, he landed on the hood of my car before hitting the pavement. So, then I'm thinking, scene not secured, no cops or EMS, I aint getting out. Don't know how many more shots he has left, and I aint going that way!! So I call 911 on my cell phone and when the injured party heard me telling them there had been a shooting there, he picked himself up and hauled a__ into the woods! Couldn't have been hurt too badly.
So after I finish with the police, My next stop is the car wash. That was not what I expected when I got up. I'm just glad my sons were still at home and not in the car with me!
Surely Tuesday will be better!!!!
