Re: Would you marry a doctor?
I don't think the author of this original post wrote this the way that it was intended- at least I hope not! Everybody is jumping on her back in all of these responses. I'm going to cut her some slack and hope that it was an error in thought process and what she was trying to say or ask just didn't come out right. I simply can't believe that anybody would become a nurse just so they could hope to meet & marry a doctor. The sputum, vomit, diarrhea, urine, blood and other related funky smells & fluids would chase them away if they really weren't in it for the right reasons. That is my humble opinion at least. Nursing is no joke. Nursing is not like Greys Anatomy, and unfortunately, I believe far too many people go into the field not understanding that. Nurses don't go to work to hook up in hall closets & have steamy affairs. Nurses go to work & get pooped on, peed on, vomited on, do heavy lifting all day, & wear shapeless scrubs. If they are doing their job right, they can really make a difference in a patient's life or even save a life. A busy nurse doing his or her job right are busy with critical thinking and patient care. Hopefully, thinking about what doctor is available or marriage material isn't what is on his/her mind at work, or they should just go home. I wouldn't want that person to be my nurse.
