Yea, the young ones are nice...but the older ones...forget it.

With the experiences you had working with doctors, would you marry one?
this whole scenario actually reminds me of those tv shows where the nagging jewish mother is pressuring her daughter to go and find herself "a nice jewish doctor" already!

I don't think all this negative judgment towards you is warranted..so you got into nursing to marry a doctor. Most people in my Accelerated BSN program just got into the field to become CRNAs for the $ and prestige. I did it for the travel opportunities. If you feel "called" into nursing and it is your passion, that's great, but as long as the rest of us are competent nurses why does it matter what our intentions are?
Why does it matter what our intentions are??? Seriously? Nurses aren't beauticians. They don't sell shoes or perfume. They deal with life and death everyday. I think it matters a great deal what your motivation is to become a nurse. As I sit here writing numerous letters of intent and application essays to a looooong list of nursing schools, I cannot fathom the kind of response I would get from an admissions committee if I were to say that I was only there to find the (rare) McDreamy, M.D. and get hitched. I wonder how this person managed to make it through all the prereqs for a decent program, and then graduate if this was her real motivation. All of this assumes the OP was not a troll.

Ok, Seriously?

I'm not trying to be hateful or rude here, but the kinda girl that only wants to marry a guy for his money or title?
I gotta be the first one to tell ya. Cheap girls are a dime a dozen. Sooner or later, when that dr figures out why you married him? he's gonna be handing you that nice little divorce form and moving on to greener pastures.

Oh, and secondly...if you only went to nrsg school to find a dr to marry, then please stay away from my hospital and don't come to work in my unit because I don't wanna be the one that has to work with you.

Enough said.

This thread is like a train wreck. I couldn't stop reading. I think I lost a few brain cells while trying to process it.

Nice girls go to nursing schools, so they can meet handsome doctors and have their children!

Are you *%&#^#$* kidding me? What year is it again? Seriously....if you're that hard up, there's tons of easier - and cheaper - ways to meet McDreamy *rme* I enjoy Grey's Anatomy but come on already.....

No way...when they are young they are cute and handsome....the ones I've seen and known from way back have grown old, ugly, and bitter.

Yeah, like roadkill except spit out and run over again....

Yuck.

I would be if he was my type and everything or rather most of the things I wanted.
Good looking, a hard worker, a good sense of humor, etc.

Oh and he can not work where I work.

.......and he has to like me too of course. That is kind of important.
