Yep, OP has posted on this topic before, and, correct me if I'm wrong, did in fact say that she went to nursing school in order to find a doctor to marry.

I said on that thread and will say here too...that is sad. My opinion.

Anyhoo, back to THIS question by OP...no, I wouldn't even entertain the thought of dating, much less marrying, a doctor...don't like their hours, for the most part, and most of them have the personality of a doorknob...MOST of them. Having said that, one of my best friends is a doctor...now she and I get along just fine, but she can be a bit abrasive to most folks. I think there are nice ones and there are not so nice ones...I just wouldn't want to be with one forever.

You really posted this again!?? *cough* *snicker* Ook.
Yeah I'd marry a doctor if he looked like Alex O'Loughlin and was sweet and kinda and was JUST Like the fake doctors on tv..suuure!! *bobs ponytail*
I just can't believe this is round two...*giggles* So yah basically...No it ain't gonna happen cause real doctors hours and lives suck.

Docs are real men...they don't want soemone who just wants them for their degree..soo...good luck with that..*snort*

I dated name withheld before he became a doctor, handsome nice polite, kind sweet loving. I moved away. Fast forward 30 yrs. Now he is a practicing thoracic surgeon. I asked a few OR nurses if they knew him and the response shocked me. " that
( * ) hole he is the meanest sob." What do they do to these people in med school???

Yeah I'll keep my handsome Respiratory Therapist thank you! HAHA but don't worry I didn't meet him at work. I was with him before he even started college and now we are married. Its nice having a husband in a similar profession, we can ask each other questions and vent about work and the other person understands.

Sure.

If I found man who was nice, respectful, caring, a good listener, attractive, sincere, funny, loyal, intelligent, loving, affectionate, supportive, etc. I would consider spending the rest of my life with him, whether he was a physician or a trashman.

I don't think all this negative judgment towards you is warranted..so you got into nursing to marry a doctor. Most people in my Accelerated BSN program just got into the field to become CRNAs for the $ and prestige. I did it for the travel opportunities. If you feel "called" into nursing and it is your passion, that's great, but as long as the rest of us are competent nurses why does it matter what our intentions are?

The ONLY person I could marry would be a doctor, because if my wife found out, I'd need one.

There's a comedian on every board....but my hubby would agree with you-someone would need a doc if they lived I myself wouldn't marry a doc, too prone to lawsuits, and many of them do not have any longevity in a marriage. Also, I don't want to work with someone that I sleep with at night. I used to work with dh, in maintenance in a factory in fact. We didn't have much to talk about most times because we were together all day.

This is like asking...
Would you marry a plumber?
Would you marry a baker?
Would you marry a writer?
Would you marry an engineer?
Would you marry an astronaut?
Would you marry a governor?
Would you marry a president?

What school do I need to enroll in in order to marry a president?

With that sort of mindset you will end up having a sugar daddy instead of landing a real boyfriend! You want mountains of gold then... use your own brain and your ten fingers!!
