No.

You have to be joking. You totally did NOT become a nurse in order to meet a doctor to marry. Please tell me this is a joke. It has to be.

Just say it. You are joking.

There were at least a few girls (we were young then!) that went to nursing school just hoping to meet med students or docs to marry. But this was 35 years ago! I seriously didn't think that this was still going on!!!
I dated quite a few docs and med students, only met two that I would have considered for a long relationship. But that was not my aim in going to school.
How many docs are still with their first wife 20 years out? Some are on their third!!!!
And you should have realized long before you finished your schooling that many docs are not particulerly good husband/father material!

Nope, I will not be marrying a doctor. My guy makes more than one, and hasn't even completed college yet! We met 2 years ago when he was doing blue collar work for labor union. Never knew he would be doing this well later.

We were both only 21/22 and pretty broke . Never loved him for money.

My husband would be pretty upset if I married a doctor. Besides, that would be bigamy.

By the by, I cannot believe that in this day and age, someone actually went to nursing school to meet doctors? And admits it? It boggles the mind. I'm hoping the OP is a troll!

Yes! My BF is a first year med student and wants to be a pediatric surgeon. We've been dating since high school, and we have both been interested in the medical world for longer than that. I think it's natural that two people from the same professional genre would be friends/date/marry because you already probably have a lot in common.

But becoming an nurse for the sole purpose of finding yourself an MD mate..that's another can of worms..

There are a lot of perks to marrying a man who makes good money.
Doctors marry and date other doctors generally.
If you have a goal of marrying a doctor, medical school is a better bet.

I would, if I was in love with him.
I would marry anyone that I loved- no matter what they did, actually.

I don't think the OP was saying that she became a nurse to meet Dr's. ( I hope not anyway!) I think, that like most immature women, as soon as they become a nurse and start working they fantasize about how cool it would be to have a relationship with a doctor - like Grey's Anatomy, ER.

My friend just married a doctor last year. She just finished her residency at UCSF and specialized in neuro/trauma with peds. She's one of the most humble, genuine, sweet, beautiful people I've ever met AND she's a fantastic doctor. My friend is one luck man!

This kind of seems like a silly thread to me too. If you love someone, and decide to marry, I certainly hope it's for amazing individual qualities that you adore and respect. Not some generalizations about their profession. Just a note: who really acts like themselves at work anyways?

Techinically, my husband is a doctor (of physical therapy). But I have dated construction workers, cattle farmers, lawyers, and a mechinic in the past. Point being, a decision on whom to marry or not to marry should be based on love and respect for that person, not the title they hold. You seem to be a very immature girl, and have a lot of growing and learning to do before you marry any one.

Yep, I thought this all sounded a little familiar. OP either as mature as a 12 year old or a troll.
