Long after I die, immigration problems will still be part of our society. I better leave the debate to the politicians who use these issues as their tool for election speeches.

I guess the problem is that we are not speaking about who was illegal a few hundred years ago.

The problem is complicated enough to address in a modern context. If we confound the issue with prior countries (with radically different legal systems) there's no way to even start to address the issues of immigration today.
