Will I get as much supports as grad. nurse if I already passed the NCLEX

I'll be starting a new RN job soon and I'm very nervous. I passed the NCLEX, so I can sign RN after my name, but I'm just as inexperienced as any other new grad. Actually, I haven't ever worked in a hospital besides in clinicals. I'll need lots of support and will be asking questions as needed. There are many othe new grads. on my floor who have interned on this floor for 8 months, so I'm going to feel dumb not knowing a lot of hands-on things (espec. having RN after my name). Is this normal to see for a new grad. who passed the NCLEX?

I passed NCLEX before I started working and had the same amount of orientation as the GNs. The only difference...the hospital didn't offer me the sign on bonus that they were offering the GNs. I had to go to HR and explain that although I had passed boards I was just as "new" as the GNs. I got the bonus and a great orientation. Good luck!

You should get the same amount of support. I am surprised no one has outlined your orientation for you.

The hospital and your supervisors understand that you are new and should plan your orientation accordingly. It is YOUR responsibility to make sure you are not getting in over your head. Speak up and ask plenty of questions and make yourself available for learning experiences. Most every nurse was in your shoes at one time!
