Where to find classes/educational opportunities?
- 0Jun 7, '11 by LPNnowRNI live in rural area. Where would I find information on certificates and classes? Some jobs list "must get NRP within three months of hire" for instance. As a newer grad, where do I start to look for stuff like Critical Care Certificates, Surgery certification programs, continuing education, etc...? I wouldn't mind paying for it myself if it makes me stand out in the crowd of resumes. Thanks everyone!

Some certifications require you to be working in a particular job related to the certification. When you are working, the facility should have information on where to get the certifications they require.

Someone who might know is a hospital educator. Try giving them a call. If you want CNE, look online for nursing CNE and check out various manufacturers of hospital equipment. Medline and Baxter both have excellent programs online.
