    Nights 3-5:1
    Days 3-4:1

    I'm a med surg/step down staffing pool nurse. Our patient loads on med surg range from 3-6, usually 4-5. Stepdown is 3, maybe 4.

    Peds onc is 1-3:1

    Cardiac advanced care (step down) 4-5:1 for days and nights.

    PCU/CCU is 1:4. ICU is 1:2, sometimes 1:3 depending on the staffing.

    I work in the ER now where we are generally 1:4 but sometimes 1:5 if we're short on staff. Fast track is always 1:5.

    Critical Care typically 2:1. 3:1 when short-staffed or simply at a poor facility.

    We do team nursing. An RN, LPN, and aid to 10-12 pts. Just started. So not sure if I like it or not. It's very different compared to having 6-8 of my own

    I work on a med/surg, telemetry and observation floor. The ratio is usually 6:1 but it can go up to 7 or down to 5. I usually discharge up to 3 patients a shift and always have atleast 1 admission if not more.
