What!! I am so jealous. I have never gotten anything like that. That actually shows some appreciation. My hospital always gives something lame like an umbrella w/their logo on it. It's nothing but free advertising under the guise of a gift.

Let's see, I got a bouquet of purple carnations, a whole bag of Three Musketeers mini mint candy bars and my husband took me out to dinner at Chili's. From my hospital I got nothing. I called Monday night and asked if there was anything special scheduled for the nurses, like in the past a lunch or breakfast, and was told no. Good thing I treated myself!!!

We were given T-shirts, a nice breakfast, and a catered lunch. The nicest part of nurses week for me was a "blessing of the hands". We had our hands annointed with oil and a prayer was said by our chaplain, it was really touching.

A stainless mug with the hospital logo (can't have anything except water in the pt care area) and a nylon camp chair with aforementioned logo. Also had Chinese catered tonight, which pales in comparison to the 6 days of food, prizes and festivities planned between 10-4 for the dayshifters.

My last hospital had full catered meals and desserts with chocolate fountains, etc for both shifts.

This year they did pretty good, the staff nurses were all fitted for brand new Nike Shox that will be embroidered with the hospital's logo, but i'm not a staff nurse yet so fingers crossed for next year lol

Wow, I'd about fall over dead if we got anything like that! I wouldn't even care if the logo was on there, if it was something that could make me be more comfortable at work!

Mostly, we get things with logos that just are another way to stretch advertising dollars and claim they're doing something for us: each year, another tote bag, mug, pen, t-shirt. How about emory boards with the hospital logo?!?

I suppose I could be really stylin' and walk around the block with all of that on, LOL....a walking billboard for my Hospital of Choice.

If you work days, you've got it made with the cake, ice cream, various perks offered during the day. Those of us who work nights, well....oh well. They don't offer any goodies that can be there on multiple days, either: if you're not in that day, oh well.
