What Would You Love to Find in the Break Room?

When I start clinicals, I'd like to offer some treats to the nurses. I'm curious what people would like to find sitting out in the break room for their consumption.

The three things that I'm considering:

1) Individual packs of trail mix - It's nutritious (albeit salty) and tasty
2) Bagels - I love 'em and they're better than donuts, especially if you can forego the cream cheese (uh, yeah, right...)
3) Muffins - I'm a sucker for poppyseed muffins.

So, when you're having a hectic day, what would bless you to find sitting on the table when you pop into the break room for 5 minutes?

I'm a kolache guy, but I think that all of your ideas are very kind gestures.

Had a student one time make mini zucchini breads, all individually wrapped. It was wonderful, because you could eat it there or take it home.

I would kill for good, freshly brewed coffee. And fruit.

Silverdragon, you've got the right idea.

I love breads but like them with a ton of fat in them, on them, or both.

how 'bout a masseuse?

Really, I think I'd like something like a chocolate bar with all kinds of chocolate...dark chocolate especially! Not nutritious, but highly necessary on some days!

How nice! I think fruit is a great idea, including quick breads. I'm a blueberryholic myself! Nuts are great too.

I'm sorry! I just noticed you want to do this for nurses! I thought it was a fantasy question! lol Your ideas are great! I can tell you that where I work fresh fruit goes really fast because we rarely get it...most patients give candy, so we seem to really crave the fruit when we get it. Bagels are always a hit, too. Or just fresh baked cookies, breads and cakes. There was one unit in our hospital where the students got the nurses a basket full of things they could use somehow, like pens, highlighters, etc...and some stuff I thought was great, like those Shout wipes to take stains out of your scrubs, like spilled coffee? That could get pretty expensive though. Good luck, very nice of you to do this!

A masseuse, a cot, and a white noise machine. Hey, figured I'd go all out if I answered!

Chicken wings and fried chicken wouldn't last 10 seconds.
