Today, I ran into a guy who I used to work with in my previous career in my hospital's cafeteria. He was there because he had a friend in the ICU.

We made small talk and such. When it was time to say goodbye, he tells me "BTW, you look very sexy in those scrubs. It's something about a woman in scrubs and one wearing a stethoscope around her neck. I think scurbs are more sexier than a miniskirt. I think it's something about what's underneath them that's a mystery. And I always had a thing for nurses".

To say the least, I was SHOCKED!

I didnt know what to say, so I said, "alrighty then" and walked away. I didnt really "know" this guy like that (as in he could joke with me in such a way) so I was kinda offended.

I told a fellow student what happened and she laughed and told me not to take it "too seriously".

I don't know. What do y'all think? Have anything like this ever happened to you? And do you think I'm overracting? Should I take it as compliment and move on? Would you be offended?

Your thoughts?

Either he was paying you a compliment or he was making a pass at you. Either way, while not the very model of appropriateness, (to your perception at least), I would suspect it was harmless as long as he left it at that.

So in that light.... enjoy it! You won't be getting those forever you know!

I think I would have smiled very sweetly and thanked him. Then I would have said, So, what is sexier? The BM stains from room 5, the blood stains from room 10, or the armpit sweat stains from the nurse?:lol2:

Offended??? H E double hockey sticks, NO! I think it's funny and I'd just laugh at him. Now, I have been offended when a doc pinched my rear end when I've been scrubbed and couldn't slap the feces out of him! Just consider the source--another BSer...:icon_roll

Well, if scrubs turns him on that much...

I was not present, but if you felt uncomfortable, I hope that he will not be around a great deal. Did you exchange numbers or addresses? If not, consider him as a dweb and blow the experience off. You have the right to feel anyway you wish to. And, if you don't want to be around him, don't apologize...but don't make it into a big deal just yet...just say hello and move on. I think he was flirting, also, actually. He just didn't say the right thing to the right person.

Even though what he said was on the tasteless side, take it as a compliment! Don't dwell on the fact that the guy obviously has no idea how to impress a woman, just feel good knowing you can still turn heads even with scrubs on!!! ;)

Well, since I don't think I'll see him again, I'll take it as he was just flirting.

Not to mention, while he was saying it, he was "undressing me with his eyeballs".

I don't know what the fasnication with scrubs are to some men, because it seems like I get "hit on" the most when I'm out and about wearing them after work or clinicals.

I'm just gonna take it as harmless flirting and leave it alone LOL!

Thanks y'all!

Some men are STOOPID and think nurses make $$. He's also probably been watching too many "hospital" shows on TV.

Wait till you graduate! Then the fun really begins. I was a wound care nurse for about a year. When I'm assessing you, I gotta see everything and I do mean everything!

Had a wonderful gentleman in his 70's, looked to be in his early 50's. I do my assessment and he says "Now that you know what you would be getting, I think you are a handsome woman. How about dinner?"

Uhhhh, one of the few times I have ever been speechless.

Tres
