What are the pros and cons of being all male nurse

I recently read that 9% of nurses in the U.S. are male nurses. I was wondering if there any pluses to being a male nurse?

Who really cares? I'm a male nurse and there isn't really a difference. I work with a lot of other nurses who are male.

    Yep, I'm all male too.

I wonder if we will get someone posting who is half and half, or three quarters even?

im a female but it seems to me that male nurses are respected more by physicians and sometimes families. i would say in some settings your female patients may feel slightly uncomfortale depending on what setting you work in. Since the profession is predominantly female you may often get irritated and not understand why all the women you work with are so "catty" and "petty." They will make a big deal about stuff that you will think is very stupid, but if you can deal with that I think nursing can be just as rewarding for males.

Since women have both testosterone and estrogen, are we part male??

I think should be moved to the male nurses forum but I don't really get the question either. Are you implying that we can be "part male nurses" because your asking what are the pro's and con's of being an "all male nurse"? It seems like a very odd question to me, very odd indeed.

Yes, that's probably what he meant, but it's just fun to rag on him a little for his typo.
