What is your passion? - page 3
Without a doubt, we are all great nurses, whether it be BSN, ADN or Diploma. My question for all of you is "What is your passion"? What non-nursing dream sets you apart from the nurse next door.... Read More
Feb 11, '03I love to scrapbook and write short stories. Actually, I'm quite addicted to scrapbooking...........
Feb 11, '03It seems I am too busy working and raising kids to be able to do what I want to do. I would love to be able to have more time to sew, do scrapbooking, and other fun crafty things.
My ultimate (current) dream is to learn how to quilt while sitting on the beach at my retirement condo!
Feb 11, '03I would love to write professionally. Not sure if I have the patience for writing novels, but I do like poetry and short stories.
Feb 11, '03Someday I would love to invent a device that would attach to the bottom of my esophagus and exit through my skin and would allow me to eat all the chocolate I wanted though never entering my tummy!!!! Maybe something like a "double-lumen esophagus". Use the real one for healthy things and the artificial one for treats!!:roll :roll
That aside, I would love to devote more time to playing the piano!
Feb 11, '03NurseGirlKaren - I would be happy to invite you -- when I buy my condo! Of course I have at least 20+ years till retirement!:chuckle
We will be spending 2 weeks at Easter at our favorite beach, so I'll be looking for the perfect condo!

Feb 12, '03Not a dream, but my passion has always been music. I've got literally thousands of CDs, records and tapes. Been this way my whole life. Always listening to music, going broke collecting music. Making bootleg CDs is a late 90s thing I started, but still buy/collect CDs. I still buy old vinyl.
I'm pretty good at music trivia too. There was a question on "who wants to be a millionaire" about music that would have one me a million had I been playing.
I should be working in a record store somewhere, but I guess it's good that I don't because they are going out of business and style.
Too bad I can't sing either.
Feb 12, '03ARchitechture! or real estate I love old buildings and different styles. Oh and married (Iget that in JULY- to the most wonderful social worker alive !):kiss
Feb 12, '03My passion is dogs... pure and simple. If I hadn't been so old when I went to nursing school, I bet I'd have considered being a vet. I actually considered it during my last quarter of my nursing program, but time wasn't on my side...
I'd love to have another dog (my Irish Setter passed over last May and I've not been "ready" yet to welcome another companion into my life) and train it very well... to receive a Good Cainine Citizen Award and Therapy Dog Certification so I could take it around to hospitals and long term care homes, etc. to cheer people up. I know that if I were in a situation where I couldn't have a pet all the time, I'd absolutely adore someone bringing their pet to the hospital/home where I was to cheer me up!
Maybe I'll get more serious about this now that I've read this thread and committed my desire to cyberpaper...
Thanks for this great thread!
Feb 12, '03To be a professional runner and run in the 2008 Summer Olympics. I actually began to start training for it. I don't know what event I want to do. I am a distance runner so I am thinking either 10k or marathon. Wish me luck.
I also love to sew, and it would be really cool to design my own line of clothing.
