What is Amorphous UR?

  1. I am a second semester nursing student researching labs on one of my clinical Pts and have run across "Amorphous UR (neg)", my Pt has +4. I have looked in all my reference material and have come up empty handed. Can any one tell me what this test indicates and what interventions a high value require....please Thank you!

I'm 99% sure it's a urine test and has something to do with a type of sediment in the urine denoting it's alkalinity or acidity. I don't really know more than that, but maybe this info will help you?

Amorphous Urates, Uric acid is a yellow crystal. Urates that don't have a crystalline form are amorphous (without body).
