Nursing is about everything....It touched my life smoothly as it is...the best word i can describe about my experiences would be AWESOME.... i had fun, there are also sad moments but then again much of learnings gained in my everyday life because it focuses about me as a nurse or should i say my nursing profession...social activities are present!!bonding moments with my co nurses and also with my patients who treat me as their family. My clinical instructors became my second parents when i was still in colllege, they taught me everything,i learned a lot from them....what i am and what i have right now its all because its my calling....and im proud of it...

When you come to work for your 12 hour shift and you and your only other nurse (yes, we staff with 2 on the floor) have 6 patients, all with IV's, 3 with foleys, one chest tube, 4 are TOTAL CARE and one in the croup tent andthe you have a 2 vehicle MVC come in the ER doors, you really learn to work as a TEAM and pull it together!! I cannot imagine doing anything else!!!
This sounds like a dream job! I have came across a job recently in Kentucky, where they say nurses don't want to be, because it is a small place, but I would have been so happy to go there, I like having responsability just like you describe at your job. Of course, I couldn't get the job, it was a rapid response assignment and someone else got it. Where is Madison Valley?

Illness/disease/accident is the most stressful thing in a person's and family's life. To be able to make this time easier in even a small way is a joy. I love the constant learning and improving your knowledge and the knowledge of others...the teaching, the variety...and no day is ever alike. Best of all, there is the intense feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day....even on a "bad" day something is learned, something is resolved, a smile made someone life just a little easier.

I love nursing because I am able to use my music background to teach my patients about healthy living.

Check out a fun song my para patient and I wrote that promotes regular bowel movements. We laughed until we cried and learned as we did it. Enjoy!

How about going into teaching? We need instructors so bad and you would be exceptional.
