With all the young girls being abducted by sex offenders here latley, my husband wondered how many are around us. This is the results

1. Multiple offender 2 blocks down from my home.

2. Multiple offender next door to my parents (where I grew up and where my kids play outside)

3. Three multiple high risk offenders that live across the street from our intermediate school.

4. Two multiple high risk offenders that live across from the elementary school.

5. A total of 188 REPORTED offenders that are in our city alone, mind you the population is less than 10K.

This is a slap in my face , you think you live in your safe city. No matter the size or population are children are at risk. I have always worried about this kind of thing and been cautious , double checks on the locks ,windows down and locked, shades and blinds closed, well lighted yard. I also sleep in the living room so I can hear all that goes on. I have 4 little girls and any uninvited visitor that comes in better be ready not to leave. I encourage all of you to look and check who your neighbors are. YOU NEVER KNOW!!!!!

I looked at the sex offender database and I think the dept of public saftey

You guys are given a lot of info.

Here in PA I apparently can't tell if they are in my neighborhood because it doesn't give specific address.

Pic is included.

Our state site gives:

Type of Offense

Date of Conviction

Name

Aliases

Year of Birth

Town of residence, work, school. No specific address!

Specializes in ICU, PICC Nurse, Nursing Supervisor.

I forgot to mention recent and old photos. And I even have a map that pinpoints in my town where everyone of them lives.

Yeh.. same here in Va.

All the info is given.. court and convivtion dates.. the whole nine yards. Also just waht the type of sexual crime it was, so it states right there .. rape... sexual battery.. aggrivated sexual assault.. or "taking indecent liberties with a child". So you pretty much get the idea of what crimes this person has committed.

Ours has photos, too.. BIG ones. :chuckle And their addresses.

Slimeballs. :stone

I think it would be a great idea to ship these jerks to an area in what was once called the "great American waste land." You know out west, up some canyon in Utah and then fence the whole mouth of the canyon with high voltage electric fence.

I know, some people are of the misguided opinion these people can change with time and help. I have been told by too many different law-enforcement types these offenders can never change.

I listened to one speak once, he really made you think and made you sick while thinking. He said until and unless they could invent a drug to rewire his mind, he would always have these thoughts. He is serving life in prison and wants to stay there. He knows he will either kill someone in there or be killed.

There was some state that just kept these guys locked up even after they served their time because they were a manace to society. I think it was being challenged by the ACLU. I don't know how it turned out.

I know who is a pervert around here. They don't cross onto my side of the road. This is one of the issues I really have to pray about daily, I can't tolerate these type of people. :angryfire

Wow...there is only 1 who will be living 1/2 mile from where I might be moving, and noone else within a few miles. While I'm relieved in comparison to what some of y'all have been reporting, I'd be happier with none anywhere near.

they are like roaches, aren't they. I found some shocking stats in my area too.

I think we as parents & just plain ole decent human beings are going to have to demand something be done to protect children!!! When you cannot even put your child to bed/let them play in your own yard........ Something has to be done!! It makes me so sick, I just do not have word to express the anger, disgust ect that I feel. We vote for our leaders/lawmakers so I say put the heat on them to deal with these perverts with NO mercy,No second chances so that they will never have the chance to harm another innocent child as long as they live.:angryfire

Agree 100%.

I still can't find a web site that gives the names of the sex offenders. Every web site I go to in reference to this, expects me to give the NAME of the offender I am looking for.

That's the problem.

I don't know their names.....I want to know if any are living on my street......how do i find that information out?

Can some of you post links to the web sites you all are using to find these sex offenders on your streets?

Thanks in advance.

I may be wrong, and I did look for a couple of minutes before I decided to post here and couldn't find it; but I thought sex offenders were not allowed to live within a 1/2 mile of a school.

I saw it once while looking around the Hamilton county (Ohio) clerk of courts web site. May have clicked out of that particular website I am not sure. At the time I was in a conversation aobut unpaid parking tickets and it caught my eye.

Anyway, I was sure that's what I had read. Anybody have any info on that?

Why would they allow sex offenders to live anyplace near a school(maybe child offenders only, they do have rights, the pigs).

I have said before we have to be careful about who we hold a "grudge" against. I do know of someone who was tried as an adult because his girlfriend, whom he and his parents thought was 16, turned out to be just shy of 13 with a daddy who was friends with the prosecutor (this may not have influenced the whole thing, but certainly does sound fishy). He was sent to jail for statutory rape, I do not know the girl (I did see a pic of him and her together before the prom, she sure fooled me about her age), nor do I know the boy, I do know his mom though and believe her story of what went on.

Anyway, they have to live someplace, but right next to a school just seems to me to be the last place we want them! Come to think of it, they say these perversions are not controllable, but the behavior that makes perviersions a crime ARE VERY MUCH controllable, I would be hard pressed to be convinced adults can not controll their own behavior. If they are on parole, and do not wish to repeat, it seems to me they would WANT to be as far away from temptation as possible!

It is a well known fact that these monsters cannot be rehabed. I am with the rest of you. Every time I hear about these horrible events involving children I want to take the perpetrator and the judge who let him walk free (from previous incidents) and throw them both under the jail. If they must live somewhere, then let them live amongst the judges that allow them to roam free to slaughter our children and rob our spirit. These people are nothing more than melanoma. They need to be removed from a healthy society before they invade and do any more harm. Zero tolerance.

Well this little subject really lights a fire under me. Where you get the information on the local offenders depends on where you live. Some metropolitan areas have websites, more rural areas do not. In the state of oregon, there are a few websites for big cities, but most of us folks need to make a call to the Oregon State Police and request a list for your zip code. You will get names, ages, adresses, and whether or not they are under supervision. The list also specifies if they are considered "predatory" or not. Good information, and I've had a current list in my hot little hands since I've had children. Here's the bad news: the sex offenders on the list are not always the ones you need to worry about. You know their name and address. It's the ones you don't know about that you need to worry about. I have always been ultra careful with my kids, and my husband is a cop, and all that. We have a child (a boy) that was sexually abused - by someone not on the list - by someone we thought was OK. Our child was brave enough to come forward and tell us, and get counseling. He was not brave enough to relate his story to police and child services (my husband is a cop in a different county). Another offender goes without punishment! What a great country. We ended up selling our house and moving. And after living in our new house for about 6 months, a sex offender moved in about 5 houses away. :angryfire
