welp hope you have really good note-taking skills and can skim reading material well, also. cause we used to get 300-400 page reading assignments to be done in 1 or 2 nights. i learned quickly to read a paragraph and sum it's main pts in the margin of the book.....then i just reviewed those main points. if you can take good notes and know how to skim for main points in your reading, you should be just fine. the first test will tell you a lot about the style they use .....try not to worry. you will do ok.

The answer is always AIRWAY first. Basically, the main thing they want to know is that you can use critical thinking skills. If the patient in the question has to be discharged home after a leg break, and they are 69 yrs old and live alone and in an apartment with stairs....do you see my point? The patient is the focus always. They want you to think outside the box.

But, airway is usually involved!lol.

I was always pretty good at figuring out what the teacher was going to ask. I would review my notes, skim the chapter and any high-lights I had, look over the chapter review or summary at the end of each chapter. Keep a regular study schedule and don't try to cram right before the test! I used to get together w/ a fellow classmate/friend on the weekend. We would have a couple of drinks and lots of laughs while going over the material. I wouldn't do that too often though. I maintained a 4.0 GPA through the entire nursing program so it worked for me. I was dedicated though, and spent alot of time in the books! Good luck, you'll do fine. Just go in there prepared!! Let us know how it goes....
