Variable Shifts and outside commitments

Hello all,

i am interviewing for my first position in a hospital next week as a clinical technician. The position is full time, variable. When I had my phone screening "interview" they made it sound as if I should not have any other commitments that would prevent me from working any given shift on any given day, as it will change. However, I have school on Monday and Wednesdays. Does anybody have any experience with this or any advice? I would think they would be willing to scheudle me openly as they please around those day/class times.

thanks!

Remember dont live to work. Only work to live. They do not own you and it is unreasonable for them to suggest you should not have any commitments outside of work.

It isn't realistic to expect an employer to re-work their employees schedules to suit a new hire's school schedule. A more realistic plan would be for a student to apply for part time positions that will fit with their school schedule.
