Traveling nurse

  1. I graduated from LPN school 1 year ago this month. I have been considering becoming a traveling nurse. What I would like to know what is a good company to work for, and since I have spent the last year in a long term nursing facility, would the company automatically stick me in another long term care facility? I would hope not, because this is why I want to do the traveling is to be able to work in a hospital. Aany help would be appreciated.

Is there any way you could sign up with an agency in your area and work for awhile before traveling? It would be good to try out your wings in a hospital setting before you travel. Where do you live?

    Good answer, ...an excellent idea!

There was a hospital in Cali, that was willing to accept an LPN without hospital experience. Are you intereted in going to Cali? I have webpage, you should check out. There are several agencies on it, but the agency, that had that assignment is Travelcare Unlimited, and you can go to their website, through my webpage, or go directly to www.travelcareunlimited.com.

But I do think that taking on per deim assignments is a good idea! There are assignments out there, that give very little orientation to travel nurses, and who expect you to hit the ground running! So it would be good to be prepared, as that is how it is when you do per deim. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
