Can anyone tell me the advantages to travelling nurses as far as career development.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, but I have a general impression that traveler nurses must be "cream of the crop" in order to be able to just drop in any situation and hit the ground running. If I saw travel nurse on a resume, I would presume that person to be exceedingly competent and flexible. I believe people become travelers because they possess those qualities.
Career development would come depending on where/how the traveler chose to use their skills. Can't imagine anyone whose general resume wouldn't be bolstered by the entry "travel nurse."
