This cancer is killing your loved one. We can't do more than we already have, don't keep asking for miracles. Change the code status to DNR, sign up with hospice and take him/her home and enjoy the time you have left together in a comfortable environment.

We can't fix genetic problems at our facility, as our gene splicer is currently on the Enterprise being repaired...so please take your inbred psychopath to another facility, we've all had our "beat up' quota met for the month.

Are you actually thinking that acting like that will improve care?

If your daughter is hungry enough to demand waffles for breakfast, then she doesn't belong in here.

BTW, the Waffle House is down the street......

Parking yourself in your loved one's room at all hours of the day and night and grilling every single person who comes in, then demanding time-consuming little niceties, then making us listen to your life story with your loved one, is NOT going to get him/her better care. It makes us avoid this room unless and until we have to come in. If I find out you've actually left your post and gone out for an hour (or even 10 minutes) I'll run like the dickens down to your loved one's room to try to get his/her medicines/dressings/assessments in so I don't have to deal with you and your foolishness.

Please don't spend 2 hours telling me about YOUR medical problems. I am your loved ones nurse...so if you want me to take care of him/her...PLEASE SHUT YOUR YAPPER!

You are freaking kidding me?!? You turned on the call light for me to get your mother some ice water all the while you could have gotten it yourself! You know where it is, I saw you fill up your mug earlier!!! I have 10 other residents that need my attention ATM, one of which has poo from her ears to her toes! I will get her some water when I'm through with my poo resident. I will gladly let you clean up said patient to get your mother her water. Ring that call light again for water and I will dump the cold water all over your head. Yelling at me won't make happen any faster. You can **** in one hand and wish in the other for all I care. ARGH!! Maybe you need to make a trip to the ER to have that stick removed from your @**!

For years.
I, too, am a "blurter". The more offended, annoyed or angry I am, the quicker it comes out and it just ROLLS off my tongue.
I suppose, to some, this qualifies me for "low class" but I is what I is!

I have never gotten in trouble (yet!) for anything I've ever said, but maybe because what I said was TRUE!!!

I went off three really really good times in my life at work. All three times, the words flowed like venom from my mouth, my back was ram-rod straight, my feet planted firmly apart and I felt like I boring a hole into somebody's head with my stare. All three were instances where I felt my pt needed my defense against the ignorant jerk who thinks it's funny to tease or laugh at my poor little geros in our psych ward.
Nobody NOBODY laughs at, teases or bullies my babies!!!

When the situation is bad enough, I don't wish I'd said it, I just say it.
I don't know why.
It just happens!

Oh and I get wickedly witty too when I'm mad.... look out!! LOL

Hmm... been reading this thread... sounds like any other day in the eastern appalachian mountains. LOL.
However; when something needs said, it usually gets said... from both sides!
Our families bring sleeping bags and blow-up mattresses though, and usually sleep in the lobby and various waiting rooms in every chair and corner. Sometimes it's impossible to even walk through a waiting room.

They either hover like worried mothers or shoot each other in the head.
