OMG LOL where did you get this. Are there more?

I made it on ragemaker.net. I would have to witness more hypocrisy before I could make another one.

They thought no one knew...:coollook:

Specializes in OB, NICU, Nursing Education (academic).

Inaccurate, in my experience. You would not witness this hypocrisy at my institution. I've been faculty (associate degree RN program) for 14 years. Nothing even remotely like this has ever been discussed.

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

Well you are lucky. Around here they would award Daffy Duck his CNL with no actual nursing experience and put him in charge of managing a floor he hasn't ever worked.

Have there been any discussions of the difficulty in placing new grads in the past 3 years?

Or the marketability of ADN vs BSN grads in the overall market?

Specializes in ICU + Infection Prevention.

The only place a conversation that malicious occurs is at University of Phoenix and other sketchball for-profits. No doubt, some hospital boardroom has seen that conversation.

All the other schools just stick their fingers in their ears and their heads in the sand to remain oblivious of the issue.

Hilarious graphic.

hillarious :D and great work if its a joke,

But its just not true...

or that is to say that is no different than any other field of educations....

I know so many people with BAs in this or that that are still waiting tables :(

My point is 2 fold...

I- I found my 1st nursing job in spring of 2010. It was competitive and challenging, I probably sent at least 50 apps, and followed up on every one. After about a month and a half I accepted a position hundreds of miles away from home at a less desirable LTC in a rural area of CA, that continues to hire new grads... I worked hard for about 8 months then transferred to a large regional hospital :D where I am very happy and continue to advance my career

Now when I started nursing school in 2007, Before this whole god damn recession. I watched the jobs and new grad programs evaporate as I advanced through school, I watched people graduate only to volunteer on campus :( or go back to their old jobs :( ....

My point being that I KNOW it IS possible to get a job as a new grad.... TODAY, TOMMOROW AND THE NEXT DAY. It takes flexibility, hard work, and hustle.... unfortunately not all of those qualities are taught in nursing school no matter what degree one gets. THERE IS HOPE. IT CAN BE DONE. NEW GRADS ARE HIRED EVERY DAY. I hear a lot of venting, complaining, and excuse making on this website about how "impossible" it is to get a job, now I understand a certain amount can be therapeutic... but some of it just sounds whiny :/

point II

If you have recently graduated, like within the last year, and you feel tricked / betrayed because you cant find a job now, HOW ABOUT A LITTLE ACCOUNTABILITY! This recession didn't happen over night. One can easily observe the job market while in school, and accommodate life according. It is everyone's own responsibility be realistic about the state of the world today. If anyone got tricked or mislead at the prospect of finding work easily at this point, How could it possibly be anyone fault of other than their own?

Now I am not posting just to be a dick... I want to motivate people who are having trouble finding work. New nurses who feel hopeless, and are surrounded by others who only validate their hopelessness. Please PM me if you want to talk about this any more. I have helped other strangers from this website who were struggling to find work, and at least one of them landed a position because of it:D

But some people just a place to complain.... which is also fine :D

PS this was a fantastic joke.... There should be more posts one here like this :D

Specializes in RN, BSN, CHDN.

I dont think it is a joke I believe it.

A lot of nursing schools just want your money! They probably sit on committees discussing how to make more money out of vunerable people who want to be nurses as quickly as possible

As I look at the advertisement banners at the top of this page...
