I have to agree with you. For all the bad press that aides get, especially in LTC, most of them bust their butts doing their job, and the best ones are invaluable. Smart CNAs have saved many a patient's life with their sharp observations, allowing me to go in and catch a life-threatening condition early on before it could even cause permanent damage. I was swamped on a daily basis and certainly couldn't to it all. Great CNAs truly are eyes and ears for us harried nurses.
And I was a CNA myself for a long time, and I still remember how challenging it could be, especially when you had a lot of patients that were not feeling very well.
