I'll be graduating LPN school in a couple of months, and I plan to finish my RN as soon as possible (within the next year) and I really want to be a ER nurse. What could I do as a LPN to make me a more desirable candidate for a ER position as an RN?

First, congrats for becoming a LPN. This is a huge and wonderful accomplishment. This will definitely be a stepping stone to becoming a RN.

I suggest trying to get a position in urgent care. Where I live LPNs are able to work in urgent care.

If you do have to work in a clinic or nursing home just stress your experience when you go on interviews for the ER.

For example if you in LTC give examples of how you prioritize and able to multitask ( very important in ER).

Good luck to you and congrats once again!
