HI everyone... Need some opinions on this one.. Not sure what to make of it!!
I have decided to go back to school to get my RN. NOw I work in LTC as an LPN and let's just say there is one doctor that I can't stand. Mainly because he's a jerk and NEVER comes in to see his people when he needs to be there.
I came in to work early the other day because I wanted to ask my head nurse a question about pt.XXX and the doctor was there. Well I waited patiently until they were done and then i asked my head nurse my question and he just stood there listening to everything I asked her. (I was just a little annoyed) Well she answered the question and then he threw in his 2 cents worth. And my head nurse told him I was going back to school to get my RN and his reaction was weird... He looked at me and said why didn't you do that first? Do you think getting your LPN is going to give you extra experience? I couldn't even answer him because he grabbed his stuff and took off down the hall and yelled I'll be a fine RN....
Not for nothing I'm proud of being an LPN!!! I fought tooth and nail to get through school and my boards, and yes I think it gives me an extra advantage over someone that has never set foot on a unit and doesn't know how to deal with what goes on. (It's overwhelming to new people, I remember my first day of clinicals!!!)
Should I be offended by the doctor or no... thanks for listening to me vent!!
