DUE TO WORKING IN NURSING ADMIN. AS SUPERVISOR I AM OFTEN IN A POSITION TO FLOAT NURSES TO DIFF. AREAS. THIS CREATES PROBLEMS AT TIMES DUE TO DIFF. AREAS USING DIFF. TYPES OF SHIFT REPORTS. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY RESEARCH? I AM TASKED WITH WRITTING A PROPOSAL TO HAVE ALL AREAS UTILIZING THE SAME.

At my facility we used to have a diff report sheet for ea unit. Then a year ago it was simplified to be a listing of rooms/ pt names, with 2 columns for preceding shift...and update/ or important infor for next shift. It has helped when verbal report is lacking... or you have forgotten what was reported....
