I personally have better things to do with my time. I don't eat at Hooters nor do I know anyone that would. I could care less what they portray nurses as and I don't need to watch the video to know what it's all about. But feel free to get all riled over it on my behalf. There are honestly way more important issues in the world right now.

I'd boycott the restaurant simply for airing the dumbest, most unimaginative ad I have seen in a long time. Seriously, washing powder ads are more entertaining! I hope you all realize it's an insult not only to nurses and doctors, but to the intelligence of American consumers in general....

Yeah the "naughty" nurse image irritates me as well. What is also irritating is that places like Hooters do not sell food that's going to be doing your health any favors, and putting a symbol of health like a nurse along with greasy wings is none too cool.

These days, though, I'm more inclined to agree with up2nogood...there are bigger (whoops, no play on words intended hee hee) things out there to worry about.

HOO cares. i don't get why it's such a big deal. the media can make any profession look sexy. business women, nurses, cops, teachers-- it's never going to change so why waste your time emailing them? i'd rather our profession be seen as cute, friendly, or even SEXY people than ugly, mean, hateful people.

Haha i've never been to a Hooters and never plan on it just on general principle, for precisely those reasons.

I see no need to boycott, group up, or have angst. I just choose not to give them my business.

For those who find this offensive and degrading to the profession, I'm suggesting e-mailing their PR office to express displeasure. For those who don't, thanks for bumping the thread. If it keeps getting bumped, more people will see it.

Time to take a chill pill :smokin:

I think there's more important things for people to worry about, sorry. Like someone else said, any profession that employs women (cops, doctors, maids, nurses, whatever) will always end up being some sexy Halloween costume. The general public knows that nurses are educated professionals and that "sexy" nurses that strut around with their big fake boobs hanging out like that chick in the video are just a joke. However, that's not to say there are not sexy/attractive people who are nurses by profession. ;)

All I gotta say is, I think my boobs are bigger :crying2: time to go on a diet :D

I agree with OP. I also agree that there are more important issues out there, but it still does not take away from nurses being generalized as female, white, skinny, whores. This add does a disservice to the profession.
