OK I know this may sound unbelievable but I don't know what the difference between an LPN and an LVN. Could someone enlighten me please?

Different names for different states. In Ohio=LPN, in Cali=LVN...some differences in scope of practice.

Thanks so much. I was thinking that but I wanted to be sure

LPN/LVN is the same thing different state, there is no difference in scope of practice except based on what state your in and the state determines scope of practice.

An LPN can endorse in to a state that graduates LVN's and vice versa. Example, I graduated from an acredited LPN school in Oregon, but I can endorse into Texas that has LVN schools.
