Hi, my name is Courtney Battle and I am a senior at Central High School in Phenix City Alabama. I am writing a research paper and I have a few interview questions I would like for you to answer about being a Registered Nurse. If you answer my questions could you leave your name, city and state, place of employment and any comments that you have. Thank you.

The questions are:

1. What are the basic duties of your job?

2. How long have you been doing your present job?

3. What kind of education, training or other experiences did you need in order to get and keep your job?

4. What do you like about your job?

5. What if anything, do you dislike about your job?

6. What advice would you give a student who is considering a career in your area?

7. How many jobs or changes in your career choices have you had before you decided to be a nurse?

If you take the time out of your busy day to help me thank you very much because it will be greatly appreciated. If you don't mind can you reply to this forum and also send your answers to my e-mail address which is [email protected]. And again thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

Hi. Hope this choice of topics indicates an interest in the nursing profession.

1. I coordinate training and paperwork requirements for all new hire nurses, plus make sure the right person is in the right place, has the right equipment, etc. I also work with nursing students on the floor to help train them.

2. Two years. Before that I was a pediatric nurse

3. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and will finish graduate school in May

4. Interacting with so many smart people! Nurses are stimulating to be around.

5. Not being able to "fix" everything, and the politics that get in the way

6. Focus on science courses and math. Expect to be challenged.

7. I am 56 so have changed careers 2-3 times, but always in the medical field. I like nursing because it is so versatile and every personality can find their own niche.
