school without hesi?

by Deasel

Can anyone name some of the schools for me(preferably in the southeast) that don't require the HESI to graduate?? my school does and i'm getting fed up with it. i just failed for the second time and can reatke my last class one more time and would like to see if all my classes would transfer so i could graduate from another school. i still have four more chances.. im sure i'll pass, but they're always that "what if". my next choice would be to beg to sit for lpn boards

The LPN schools in Tampa Bay, FL don't require HESI but they don't accept any classes from other programs except one school. The only classes that they accept are A&P 1&2 but it's from a college that they have and agreement with there RN program. It's probably going to be difficult for you to find a school that will accept all/some of your credits because even though the corses may be the same (MS 1, pedi) the information given may be different.

Have you talked to anyone at your school (tutoring, instructors) about what you can do to improve your HESI scores.

I also go to school in the southeast (37 days to go!)...
not knowing whether or not you have done so already, my advice is to get an NCLEX review book such as Saunder's NCLEX comprehensive review (http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/boo...on#description)
and PRACTICE,PRACTICE, PRACTICE questions (the CD program has THOUSANDS of practice questions).... from what I understand, HESI is pretty accurate in gauging how well you will do in NCLEX - so if there's areas that you are lacking with HESI chances are that's what you'll need to study for NCLEX.
Besides the NCLEX book, there's books specifically oriented to test taking, such as TEST SUCCESS (http://www.amazon.com/Test-Success-T.../dp/0803611625)

and as the previous post said - get together with your instructor!!! They dont want you to not graduate (it looks bad in their record )

You're almost done and are ready to start ALL OVER AGAIN?!?!?!? ARE YOU NUTS i should slap you upside the head if i could............

I had to take the HESI also as an exit exam. There is actually a book from HESI/REACH that is a NCLEX review. Alot of students in my program used the book and found it helpful. I purchased mine through the barnes and noble website. We had people fail the HESI and pass the boards and 2 people who passed the HESI the first time failed the NCLEX. Good Luck!
