Hello,

I'd love to hear all about working in and around Santa Cruz County (Dominican, Sutter, Watsonville, etc). I'm a L&D nurse currently working in Portland, Oregon looking to move back home to Santa Cruz. I've been a L&D nurse for 4.5 years at a high risk, tertiary care facility, fluent in Spanish, RNC certification.

Specifically: hospital culture? unit culture on L&D? pay/benefits? how long it takes to get to days on L&D?

Thank you so much for any info you can provide!

Jessica

I know it's been some time since you posted. I have friends that work at WCH L&D and I personally work at Dominican (not L&D though). Dominican has better pay and benefits, but you'll likely get to days much faster at WCH. Either place, your Spanish language skills will be utilized.

Sutter is probably the nicest with the best culture. People *love* working there. However, there is no NICU and they are not supposed to take high risk pregnancies. I'm not sure how the pay compares but I think they are either on par with Dominican RNs or paid more.

I hope that helps if you haven't already made the move!
