In that 5 day interim, a thank you note is the only acceptable contact. You cannot expect them to make the hiring decision that soon.

This is a brand new clinic on a reservation and it sounded like they needed to expand yesterday. They also have to submit the applicant they like best to the tribal council and they thought they might have been able to contact them wed or thurs night of last week. Once approved they could call the applicant and let them know. I think you are right though they may have known who they wanted to hire but it is a process. They may have meant monday was a day they would decide?I don't think you can possibly expect a response in 5 days.Even if that is was discussed in the interview.

- Apr 30, '12 by RockinChick66Quote from LindseyRN86You should still call in the morning. No telling how many people interviewed so you have to stand out. Show interest in the job. I always liked it when interviewees would call. It shows interest and determination. I've also gotten jobs before by calling.Trying to keep my hopes up!!!

I would say, 'Hello, my name is Lindsey, I interviewed last week and wanted to call to follow up on my interview. I want to thank you for the opportunity for the interview, I'm very interested in this job and know I'd be a great fit for the position.....have you made any decisions at this time?'Last edit by RockinChick66 on Apr 30, '12 : Reason: grammar - Apr 30, '12 by LindseyRN86Quote from RockinChick66I think you are right. - Apr 30, '12 by LindseyRN86What should I say if they say they have already made a decision and it wasn't me? Should I ask why they didn't decide on me?

- May 1, '12 by LindseyRN86So I called and left a message. Stating my name that I interviewed last week thanked them for the opportunity and left my number if they have any further questions. Is that ok?
