Hi, i currently live in NY and am have a NY state RN license. at the end of this year i have plans to move to Georgia i am currently in process of obtaining all the paper work to send to the GA BON for the license application. Im have my resume unto date and want to start applying now for jobs so i can have time to land a job in GA before my big move. my question is should i wait until i have my GA RN license before apply to jobs or is there a formal way to write that i am Pending my GA license on the actual resume. I'm worried that my resume will be overlooked if i only include my NY state license under my certifications in my resume. :/

I would definitely include GA license in process or something like that. Shows you are serious about moving. Also a tidbit from someone who has BTDT: I suggest getting a cell phone with a GA number to improve your chances even more. Good luck!

I wouldn't put it on my resume', but I would definitely include in my cover letter that I have already begun the process of applying for GA licensure.

As someone else who has BTDT :), I would also encourage you to make it clear in your cover letter that you have a good reason why you're relocating to GA, and this isn't just one of those "blanketing the US with applications" applications. Healthcare employers aren't interested in putting time and effort into you unless they know you're serious about settling in their area.

I would advise you to include it on your resume.

The reason is that I know one of the hospitals in which I am credentialed uses software to scan resumes for keywords. (Others may as well but I know for sure about one). If you are applying to several hospitals it possible that some will use similar technology.
