Recruiting RNs - Nurse Surveyors

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone,

I have a questions about recruiting RN's for new roles. I have some positions available in the Greater New York area for Nurse Surveyors and I'd really like to know what you'd like to hear when a recruiter calls you.

I've worked recruiting nurses for the last three years and I usually hear the same three questions:

  • Can I accept this role and keep my other position?
  • What are the cost of benefits?
  • I've been in my specialty for a long time, why would I switch now?

What would you ask me if I were your recruiter?

I'd ask if it was a Union shop. Also whether the PTO was fixed or negotiable; after being in one job for a while and building up seniority you can't just offer similar benefits and pay unless someone WANTS to jump ship. What's my incentive?

I only ask one question. How much is the pay. Everyone has a price

Ha! once I would have agreed with you. but now my paid time off has more value than it did when I was younger and was all about the Premium pay and Bonuses. When I found I was tired more often and had more family commitments than I had PTO I switched my thinking around!
