re-fresher courses in texas

by 5leos

Hi, I took my board and passed back in 2001 but since them I have been at home raising babies. I have never worked as an RN. I have kept up with my continuing education classes and have an active license. I am now ready to go back to work. I tried looking but found out hospitals will not consider me since I have not worked in 6 years. I am looking for a refresher courses in the San Antonio Texas area. Has anyone taken one? how long are they, expense. Since I will be taking a refresher course do I need to take the nclex exam over again even though I have an active license?
Thank you,
Norma
