ok, so I just started at this long term care facility not too long ago. Just yesterday I was passing by the staffing coordinator (who thinks shes God) obviously since she got put their by HR....walked past her and said hi, with eye contact and she did not even acknowledge me! what lack of ethics! yet she comes to me two hours later and asks "heh can you work the evening shift tommorrow".....I pretended like I could not even hear her and continued charting.

After her second try when she came closer to me I told her probably (not) and that I would think about it and would call her once I got home... At home I took my sweet time relaxing, watched my damn sports highlights and called her back and told her a big fat NO. could have paid $$$ to feel the sobby expression in her voice. Vengeance is glorious!

Gee, what a pro you are. :uhoh3:

Maybe something besides YOU was at the top of her things to think about when you saw her earlier.

1) it's not a matter of ethics. look up the word and reconsider.

2) so you sure showed her! yeah, that you're intentionally rude and inconsiderate, when she probably was thinking about a lot more things than you when she didn't see or hear you.

3) this is your idea of when "vengeance" is called for? and you think it was a "glorious" accomplishment? puh-leeze..

Your next schedule might not look so pretty if she is the staffing coordinator.

Maybe she had other things on her mind, a sick child, relative. Maybe she needs that day off for a dr appt or a teacher conference...

Think about that the next time you jerk somebody around.

as they say, payback's a *****.

yet, i would find it just as vindictive for her to retaliate w/an undesirable schedule.

i opt for professionalism w/a touch of decorum (:)), regardless how immature some folks can be.

Wow, what are you so angry about, brotherbear? Your reaction to not having your greeting returned was pretty big...bigger than the situation called for...

Specializes in Cardiovascular, ER.

I don't understand the OP reaction either. Someone doesn't hear me pretty much every shift when I day hi or bye (they are busy or whatever). No big deal, nothing to seeth about. Seems silly to me.
