I am so excited I found out that I got my preceptorship at my place of employment in the ED:yeah:

I have worked there almost 3 years, but for the last year and a half I have only been working 24 hours a month, so I know the people who work my shifts, but there are some new faces on the other shifts

My question is, what can I do to make a smooth transition from CNA to student nurse on the unit? Thanks

your are not a student nurse at work. You are an employee who happens also to be a student. Be clear on that so that you do not overstep your scope of practice. Otherwise, remember your goal is to graduate nursing school. If your work schedule interferes with that goal, quit. Be a sponge, learn protocols (real written ones, not what staff tells you) and ask plenty of questions. This should be a good learning experience.

is a preceptorship a student nurse position?

we have paid student nurse positions at my facility- just curious if this is the same thing
