Pinning dress, any suggestions?

If anyone has suggestions on where to find a nice white dress for pinning, I would appreciate it. Everything I have found so far is thin, see-through, and cheap looking. If we have to wear one, I would like it to look nice. Ordered one that looked like a tent, so I sent it back. HELP!

Perhaps a professional uniform shop or catalog? I dunno what's appropriate for a pinning though, mine is still months away. Good luck!

When I had my pinning ceremony, I had to look at maybe 10 different uniform shops before I found the dress I wore for the ceremony. Many as you said look cheap and were way too thin. I don't think I would try to look through catalogs because you can't feel the material or see how it will look on you. I was fortunate and live in a big city so I had a lot of choices where to look. If you have to drive to a larger city, maybe some of your fellow students will want to make a day trip of it and enjoy the day! I think you may want to look at many dresses(just like you would for prom/wedding),because this is such a special day and you want to look your best! I spent about $50 for my dress and have never had the occasion to wear it again. I have saved it in case I ever want/need to wear it again!! Good luck to you and congratulations on getting to this point! It is all worth it in the end!! :balloons:

I got mine from a Uniform shoppe. It was made by Swan____. It was a popular brand at the time, and had a little swan embroidered on. Very nice and professional. It is something I have saved. I did go to many uniform places before I found the one I wanted. I am not a dress kind of person. So it was difficult. Good luck and congrats.

Hi Nichole,

Does it have to be a dress? You might be able to find a nice skirt and blouse that would work well. :)

Sorry, we have to wear our school uniform dress for the pinning ceremony and those green stripes with the apron just don't do the trick. :crying2:

Good luck.

Will let you know about Raleigh. Hopefully there is a decent selection.
