peroneal and tibial nerves

In my book:

dorsiflexion and plantar flexion assess motor function of the peroneal and tibial nerves.

Is one nerve responsible for one of these movements and the other nerve responsible for the other movement, or

are they both responsible for dorsiflexion and plantar flexion?

{there is information that testing the web space of the great toe and the second toe is the way to evaluate the peroneal nerve sensory innervation, and stroking the volar part of the foot as the way to evaluate the tibial nerve}

One source I found showed the peroneal nerve responsible for dorsiflexion, and it also had a picture of the person's foot in plantar flexion.
