PCCN (Progressive Care Certification for Nurses) Review

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I'm studying for the Progressive Care Certification Exam (PCCN) and would like to take it in 2 months (June at the latest). I have the following comments and questions:

1. I am using the Progressive Care Certification by Thomas Ahrens. I found it was overwhelming with too much information AND some errors (i.e page 28, ECG: vertical vs horizontal lines), typos, etc.

2. I am considering using the following book: AACN Essentials of Progressive Care Nursing, Second Edition Marianne Chulay.... Has anyone used this book as an Progressive Care Certification review resource? If so, what are your thoughts about it?

3. I also ordered the PCCN Q&A book since #2 doesn't have prep questions.

Thank you, in advance, for your thoughts and input.

I used the first book you mentioned and I thought it was actually very good. I passed the PCCN last year with 88/100 questions right.
