NURSYS...anybody here used it?

  1. For a fee they will maintain a record of your licensures, education and state board data and share between other states, supposedly making it quicker and easier for nurses who move or take travel assignments, etc.

My question is: do they also obtain the original state of licensure state board scores to share when required (like Washington state requires)?

Anybody been through this and know the answer? I don't want to waste my $$ if they can't 'do it all' for me. (I already emailed NURSYS and they haven't answered my question...go figure)

I am sure that it also matters where your original state of licensure was.

hey, (im a traveller ) i have used their services to get my CA license... they needed my FL license info. dunno about them keeping your "scores" though... i recently got my WA license... WA state boards didn't require any of this (to my knowledge) for an RN endorsement type application. nursys keeps your lisence info online for a couple of months i think. good luck.

From what you are telling me, NURSYS DOES take care of that...in my downloaded packet from the WA board there was (along with request for a copy of my current license, etc) a generic 'request for info from state of original license' so it does appear to be required for everyone.

    Thanks for answering!

This request for info from the original testing state was downloaded directly from the board site...before they had ANY info about me. To me that means a universal requirement.

If you are in a compact state and wish to practice in a different compact state, don't give NURSYS any money. I live in TN, I was hired in KY, so I paid $30 to verify into KY. I did not need to do this and NO REFUNDS from NURSYS.

Call the bon in your current state, then call the bon in the state you wish to practice in for your best info. Your new emlpoyer may also know how to take care of licensing for the new state you have hired to.
