Nursing with a minor in business administration

Hi have a couple of questions for nurses in the administration position or those who know of it.

1. If i had my ADN and I'm finishing up my BSN degree should i minor in business administration if my goal is to become a D.O.N or one day a hospital administrator , or should i just get another degree in Business Administration?

2. Would a minor in B.A qualify me to teach/have a Cna school?

I've never known a BSN program to offer you enough electives to have a minor. At my university, you needed 6 classes for a minor. We got 3 electives over the course of 4 years. All the nurses I know with business degrees have MBAs.

@KelRN215. I have a minor too (in healthcare management). Did it while in school for nursing bachelors. I took Gen Ed classes that were requirements for my minor and also worked for the major and took a couple extra classes just for the minor.

@OP. If you plan to get an MBA, the minor in business may help you. Depends if the program requires undergraduate business classes as prerequisites.

I was ready to transfer in Business and took some time off. Then I went back to school for nursing. I have about 3 classes left so I think I am going to go for a minor. Might as well right? My best assumption is that it's for your own personal pride. It might help you get a job by giving you an edge. The classes are fun to me. Having done the business transfer stuff, I am prepared to do an MBA in healthcare adm. or the like. Honestly, I want to move to Oregon and get a PMHNP and start a business. I think any extra classes in business would be a plus for that.
